City Dressing

BCCM’s City Dressing programme provides animation across the city centre.  Through a multi-agency approach, BCCM identifies city dressing projects to deliver shorter term solutions to encourage better connectivity for the city’s users and promote a more vibrant shared space. 

BCCM has significant infrastructure installed throughout the core city centre to facilitate city dressing. Vibrant banners significantly enhance and animate the city centre, providing a very effective method of promoting key stakeholder events. In agreement with the DfI, commercial advertising is not permitted, only campaigns that promote events or activities that support the city are permitted.

Through city dressing (banners, lighting animation and soft landscaping), this project can tackle some of the blight in the city centre due to the lack of public spending and investment in larger scale environmental schemes.  The Banner Dressing programme promotes and supports key city events and provides positive ways in which to improve city centre linkages.
