Text Alert System

As part of Belfast’s Emergency Planning, Belfast City Centre Management acts as the conduit for major events or incidents, liaising directly between the PSNI and businesses via Belfast City Centre Management’s extensive city centre-wide database or via it’s Text Alert Message Service.

Belfast City Centre Management plays a key role in Emergency Planning by disseminating key information – in real time - to support businesses in the event of disruption to normal trading conditions or longer term impacts.

In conjunction with the PSNI, Belfast City Centre Management agrees the message content to ensure only relevant and accurate information is made available.  A BCCM Alert text message is sent to all mobile numbers held on the Text Alert database - in real time

These messages provide a clear communication channel between the PSNI and the business community to help prevent or reduce disruption to businesses and their staff in the event of a major incident or event.

The BCCM Text Alert Message Service ensures that key security and emergency messages are delivered to business managers; security personnel; and key holders during major events and incidents.

Belfast City Centre Management also represents the interests of the businesses community on the Belfast Emergency Preparedness Group.
